USA SHIPPING UPDATE
over 2 years ago – Thu, Oct 21, 2021 at 09:30:00 PM

Hello all,

I am touching base with you all to let you know over the early part of this week we have been communicating with the Chinese fulfilment company to ascertain what is going on. The response has been the same. That they are handling but they have a huge quantity of shipments they are handling.

I have asked for them to look at their schedule, give us a date they can send out and then stick to that date.

I'll keep you all posted.

Whats the deal with the advance mode play sheet?
over 2 years ago – Fri, Oct 15, 2021 at 04:06:00 PM

Hey all,

So as you will have seen from other posts we recommend not using the advance mode play sheet to start with and just playing on a large table or on the floor, using the core game tiles with no expansions. This is really just to get familiar with the rules and mechanics. It's also way easier for kids.

How was the advance mode play sheet born?

Once upon a time in Hong Kong  a game was developed. That seems like years ago... hang on, it was :-) Well, when we developed and test played the game (again and again and again) we were based in (and again and again) a co-working space and by accident, we discovered that the game was really fun when play in a constrained area. Not an area so small that the tiles couldn't all fit, and not so big that there weren't really any constraints to space. Fortunately, the rectangular coffee tables in the co-working space happened to be a perfect size and hence the inspiration for the play sheet.

What we found was that when the space was restricted to that size, it made the game that much more hilarious, needing skill, and just took it up a notch.  But if you have a small table of a similar size to the play sheet you could experiment with that. The basic rule is if the tile falls off the table you can't lay it :-).

So there is a little invitation there to creativity as well. Maybe you have some other table shapes you want to experiment with.

Thanks again for those of you who have shared pictures, ratings and comments on Board Game Geek. Really appreciate it.

USA Shipping Update
over 2 years ago – Fri, Oct 15, 2021 at 06:38:05 AM

Hi all,

I hope you are all well. We have had a week of it in Hong Kong, a Typhoon that shut the city down for a day and the Chung Yeung festival.  Through this time I have been in touch with the HK team member from the investor's company who has been communicating with the China logistics company.

We have been pushing this week to get then to tell us as soon as parcels are sent out so that we can confidently give you the good news. The response that we have had yesterday is that, "they are handling now and are busy to arrange but there are many parcels they are handling".

I expect that means they may not be sent by Friday 15th. Rather than hold off until Monday to wait for hopefully better news, I thought I'd send this update as today was the date we were told they'd be sent by.

We'll keep pushing and bring another update to you next week. Hopefully, to say that they are sent.

In other news...

I was playing Caves of Rwenzori core game with my 5-year-old daughter yesterday. We are now at 1 - 1. For you parents out there, your kids are going to like the game. I think there is something about blocking mum or dad which kids love.

Thanks to those of you who have left a rating and comments on board game geek, so pleased to know you're enjoying it with your family too. Appreciated Hawaiianbat's comment: "Played a few games now. Very easy to learn, and uncomplicated to play. Great for an after dinner game, or to share with kids."

The game was designed to pretty much fill those boxes: a replayable, easy, uncomplicated, simple game to play with family and friends.

I'm looking forward to you guys all getting this game in your hands.

REMEMBER: When you first play, ONLY play the core game (no expansions in separate boxes or stretch goal expansions included in the main box), and do NOT play on the advance mode play sheet. That is just my suggestion.
