USA Tracking Update
over 2 years ago – Thu, Dec 09, 2021 at 04:39:52 AM

Hi guys,

Thank you for sending in your private messages requesting your tracking number. PLEASE KEEP DOING THAT if you haven't yet.

Last night I began to send out tracking numbers but I discovered that many backers were not included in the returned data from the logistics partner.

I am working with the team here to get them to send through the tracking numbers for ALL the USA backers that they are fulfilling.

I will keep you all updated and I am sorry for this added frustration.

All the best,

James

USA BACKER UPDATE: We now have tracking numbers!
over 2 years ago – Mon, Dec 06, 2021 at 11:24:45 PM

Hello all,

Apologies for my absence, I have been taking care of some non-game personal matters.

In the interest of personal data etc, I won't share the full list here. But if you are in the USA and still have not received your game please send a private message requesting your FedEx details and we'll share your FedEx tracking ID.

I am not sure how or why it is taking so so long for packages to arrive with some of you but I am sorry.

Fantastic to hear that more of you have received the game and I hope you enjoy playing it with your families over the Christmas season.

I'll be checking our incoming messages every day this week morning and night (HKT). Please do not message in the comments sections to request FedEx info, although I'll be looking at that, there is a chance I miss your request.

All the best,

James

Some little rule explainer videos
over 2 years ago – Sun, Oct 31, 2021 at 11:53:35 PM

Hey guys,

Here are some little rule explainer videos. If there are any other areas you'd like me to make any explainers please do let me know. Apologies for the cameraman.

The Cards (Special Gear Cards and Character Cards) explainer video:

Dark Tile Indicator Tokens Explainer Video:

Using the TNT tile explainer video:

The Explosion Dark Tile Explainer Video:

 Passing obstacle tiles explainer video:

BUT REMEMBER A TNT TILE COULD JUST BLOW UP THE OBSTACLE AND RESHAPE THE CAVE. SO IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT SAVE TILE THAT IS ALWAYS AN OPTION!

How to move in the game explainer video:

PART 1: When obstacle tiles can be laid on another obstacle tile. (Obstacle tiles include; dark tiles, flooded caves, and dead ends).

PART 2: When obstacle tiles can be laid on another obstacle tile. (Obstacle tiles include; dark tiles, flooded caves, and dead ends).

Thanks for watching guys. Any other explainer videos you would appreciate please do let me know.

Have fun and happy gaming!

Where is that Purple Apes?!
over 2 years ago – Sun, Oct 31, 2021 at 11:52:28 PM

Hi guys,

As you in the USA start receiving your games I've noticed a few queries about the absence of a purple ape.  This update is just to give you a bit of a rundown of that.

Firstly, I do need to apologize because something that slipped through the cracks is that (as some recently pointed out) the graphic on the what's in the box shows x6 apes not x5.

Another backer has questioned, was this designed to only play with 5?

When the game was designed the expansions were created in isolation. So they were designed to be played separately. I.e. the core game + one expansion. So when the ape expansion was made it was designed and developed with just five in mind.

However, the Monsoon and the Ape expansion are actually suitably versatile enough to be able to play with the extra 6th player if you wanted.  (The intrepid expansion is all about allowing the core game to have a 6th player hence the 100% necessity to have an extra character card, an extra gear card, and an extra purple meeple.)

The Legend of the Shadow Ape expansion can still be played with 6 players without there being a purple meeple. In fact, the colour is only as an aide memoir to remember which ape is chasing who. It is possible for players to be chased by multiple apes and therefore different colours.

If you play with 6 players and are concerned about keeping track of the ape pursuing purple (if the situation arises) you could use an ape + a purple disc (dark tile indicator token) and move them together. But you also could just remember, which ape is pursuing purple.

Once you have a chance to play that you'll see what I mean.

All the best and thanks for your understanding, and just to clarify:

YOU CAN PLAY THE SHADOW APE EXPANSION WITH 6 PLAYERS USING THE 5 APES IN THE BOX.

USA SHIPPING UPDATE... IT'S A GOOD ONE :-)
over 2 years ago – Wed, Oct 27, 2021 at 11:05:12 PM

Hello all,

I have just had a message saying that the fulfillment company has sent out the games and that you should receive them soon!

We are really very nearly there! Thank you all again for your patience over this time.

REMINDER:

The first time you play Caves of Rwenzori we suggest just using the core game on a table without the advance play sheet. (i.e. unlimited space, not using the x3 expansions that come inside the main box, or the x3 expansions that come in separate boxes).

Once you have played Caves of Rwenzori I would also really appreciate it if you could rate it on Board Game Geek. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/301366/caves-rwenzori/ratings?rated=1

Thank you so much for backing this game guys!

All the best,

James
